The site began with a focus on Costa Rica — one of the world’s best-known destinations for surf and coastal travel. From the Pacific beaches of Guanacaste to the surf towns of the Nicoya Peninsula and beyond, Costa Rica remains at the heart of what we cover.

But great surf trips don’t stop at one border.

Today, Surf O Costa Rica is growing into a broader resource for travelers looking for surf destinations, beach towns, practical travel advice, and ideas for their next trip. We believe useful travel content should be clear about where its information comes from.

Our guides are created through research using destination information, local and official resources, maps, accommodation and transportation data, traveler experiences, and other relevant sources. We don’t claim firsthand experience where we don’t have it.

As Surf O Costa Rica grows, we also aim to incorporate insights from surfers, travelers, local businesses, and contributors with direct experience of the destinations we cover.
